Pokeballs is used to catch Pokemons. There are many kinds of Pokeballs.
Cherish Ball
The ball is unobtainable inside the gam. It is only found at events, where the Cherish Ball holds another Pokemon inside of it. Example, the ALAMOS Darkrai is in a Cherish Ball. You can't have a Cherish Ball in your bag without the use of an external device. It has x 1 catch rate.

A ball that works better on the sea floor or underwater. The catch rate is 3.5x Poke Ball on underwater or sea. Otherwise, the ball will be x1

Dusk Ball
A somewhat different Poke Ball that makes it easier to catch wild Pokemon at night or in dark places like caves. If you catch at night or the Pokemon is in a dark area, the catch rate is 4 x. Otherwise is x 1

Great Ball
A good high-performance Ball that provides a higher catch rate (1.5 x Poke Ball) than a standard Poke Ball

A somewhat different Poke Ball that works especially well on Water and Bug type Pokemon. If Bug / Water then the catch rate x 3, if they aren't x 1.

Park Ball
A ball that only obtained through Pal Park, in which you given six Pokemon to find and six Park Balls. If you do not capture all the Pokemon, the Park Ball will not come in your bag. Park Ball captures Pokemon without fail, just like Master Ball. Sprite of this PokeBall is parallel to that of the Safari Ball.

Poke ball

Quick Ball
A somewhat different Poke Ball that provides a better catch rate if it is used at the start of a wild counter. During the 4 turns of the of the battle, the capture rate is x 4. When the number of turns reaches 5, the capture rate decreases to x 3.When the number of turns reaches 10, the capture rate decreases to x 2. When the number of turns reaches 15, the capture rate decreases to x 1.

Repeat Ball
A somewhat different Poke Ball that works especially well on Pokemon species that were previously caught. If the defending Pokemon is a Pokemon that you have previously caught before, the effectiveness of this Pokeball is x 3.Otherwise it is x 1.

Safari Ball
You are given 30 Safari Balls in the Great Marsh to catch as many Pokemon as you can within taking a certain amount of steps. If you have not used up all your Safari Balls before the Safari Games ends, the balls will be taken from you. It has x 1.5 catch rate.

Timer Ball
A somewhat different Poke Ball that becomes progressively better the more turns there are in a battle. The formula based on how long the Pokemon has been battle (Turn + 10) / 10. The longer the better (Maximum of 40 turns to count). The catch rate is x 1 - x 4

Ultra Ball
An ultra-performance Ball that provides a higher Pokemon catch rate (2 x Poke Ball) than a Great Ball
